Three dead rubbers? In terms of points and prizes, yes, for sure. In terms of the mood around the camp, certainly not. Lancashire’s men face an important three weeks ahead.
A positive run of results against bottom side Gloucestershire, promotion-chasing Kent and away in the distance league leaders Durham will do little to placate an expectant fanbase given the pre-season promotion aim hasn’t been achieved.
But inside the club, there are many who need a pick-me-up. Head coach Steven Croft for one. He will be hurting immensely. Josh Bohannon another. Hopefully he can get back into the side, get a score or two and head into the winter with some sort of spring in his step.
