Stephen Parry is Lancashire through and through. Cut him in half and he bleeds Red Rose, as the old cliche goes. Tomorrow, though, at Chelmsford, he will be hoping the county’s women come a cropper at the hands of the Essex side he now coaches.
Parry, 40, left Emirates Old Trafford in the winter, swapping an assistant coach’s role under Chris Read for the top job with the Eagles.
The former men’s left-arm spinner, a Vitality Blast winner in 2015 having been a part of the squad which won the County Championship in 2011, helped steer Lancashire’s women to the double last summer when they won the Vitality County T20 Cup and the Metro Bank One-Day Cup.
