The story of Brian Lara’s remarkable ascent to global stardom is coming to cinemas in the North West next week, both at Sale and Stockport.
'501 not out’, directed by Sam Lockyer, reflects back to 1994 when the Trinidadian achieved two unforgettable feats.
In mid-April, Lara scored 375 against England at Antigua, the highest individual Test Match score at the time, breaking the previous held record by the now late Sir Garfield Sobers.
In early June, whilst playing for Warwickshire against Durham at Edgbaston in the County Championship, he amassed 501 not out, the highest individual score in first-class cricket.
