Lancashire call for a Penna pal

Champions Lancashire have signed Australian batter Maddie Penna for the next four Metro Bank One-Day Cup matches, including a clash with her former county Essex at Chelmsford next week.
Penna, aged 25, debuts against Hampshire at Emirates Old Trafford tomorrow, a mouthwatering repeat of last year’s final at Southampton. The Red Rose won that day, and they could do with a repeat dose in this fixture given their slow start to the 2026 campaign.
Lancashire have won one and lost three of their opening four games and are off the pace at the top of the table, a place Hampshire hold thanks to three wins in four.
