Lancashire are “assessing our options” in terms of an overseas replacement for Australian Mitch Perry after the seam-bowling all-rounder pulled out of his early-season spell with the county due to the recurrence of a lumbar bone stress fracture.
Perry was due to be available to the Red Rose during the first half of the Rothesay County Championship season.
Ironically, the 25-year-old was drafted into Victoria’s team midway through their Sheffield Shield final defeat against Victoria over the weekend as an injury replacement for fellow quick Sam Elliott.
However, the injury replacement has now become the injured after undergoing a routine end-of-season MRI scan.
