The Lancashire Second XI created a bit of history on Tuesday when playing in the first-ever match at the new Farington Ground against the South Asian Cricket Academy, June 30, 2026.

The match was part of a T20 doubleheader with SACA winning the first game by 7 runs, while the second game fell foul to the weather at the halfway stage.

Mitch Stanley had the honour of bowling the first ball on the main square, to commence the history of this brand-new venue, which is due to achieve List A status when Lancashire play Kent in the Metro Bank One Day Cup on 28th July.
