Down at Emirates Old Trafford, it has been quite the day. One which has matched more the unexpected snow and biting winds of the North West than the sunshine of Desert Springs and Potchefstroom, where Lancashire’s senior playing squads are spending the latter stages of their respective pre-seasons.

News was reported this morning, via a couple of national newspapers - the Daily Mail and the Daily Telegraph, that a group of former players, current vice presidents and former chairs have called for a Special General Meeting to take place.

It follows on from the club writing to members on Monday to call their own SGM.

The club are keen to pass a number of resolutions, including increasing the number of members' signatures required to call an SGM from 100 to 250.
