Steven Croft believes Lancashire’s pre-season training camp at Desert Springs in Almeria later this month will provide them with good preparation ahead of their season-opener at Northampton on April 3.

The Red Rose county have this afternoon confirmed alterations to their touring plans for both the men’s and women’s squads amidst the ongoing military action in the Middle East.

Lancashire’s men were always going to Desert Springs, but they have cancelled a whistle-stop four-day trip to Dubai beforehand, which would have seen them fulfil some sponsorship commitments with Fly Emirates and to play a T20 fixture.

That was due to commence next Sunday, March 14, alongside the women’s squad, who would then have travelled to Mumbai until March 28.
