It is not an exclusive list of skippers that Sir James Anderson has played under but still a long one nevertheless. But the man himself, whilst admitting he has learnt a lot from many, is determined not to be a copycat captain as he embarks upon life as Lancashire’s full-time leader.

Anderson is two-and-a-half games into his new role, one he took on towards the back end of last season following the resignation of Keaton Jennings.

Aged 43, Anderson has been there, done it and bought the t-shirt in the game of cricket. This, however, is somewhat of a new challenge.
