“It was like building a house,” says Paul Shaw as he continues to discuss helping set the scene for Lancashire’s double-winning summer of 2025.
Shaw was head coach of the Red Rose side between 2020 and 2023 before handing the reins over to current incumbent Chris Read, who led the side to glory in both the Vitality County T20 Cup and the Metro Bank One-Day Cup last year.
The Barnsley-born former England coach has paid tribute to a host of contributors on and off the field, including - but not limited to - his two captains Alex Hartley and Ellie Threlkeld and chief executive Daniel Gidney.
Ex-England spinner Hartley was initially appointed captain, before Shaw arrived at the club. He then brought in Craig White as an assistant coach and Stephen Parry too. The contributions of both were hugely significant.
