Daniel Gidney says playing a key part in the growth of Lancashire’s women’s programme, a highlight of which was last season’s double title triumph, is the “proudest moment in my career”.

Red Rose chief executive Gidney has been at the forefront in terms of driving the development of that side of the county club.

He has pushed those inside and outside of Emirates Old Trafford to be better in terms of this space, including the ECB.

The professional era of the domestic game in this country was put into place by the national board in 2020, though the seeds were sewn in 2016 when the Kia Super League was introduced.
