Lancashire’s talismanic captain Ellie Threlkeld says winning the double last summer created memories which will “last a lifetime”.

The Red Rose county won the Vitality County T20 Cup in late May and then followed it up by adding the Metro Bank One-Day Cup crown towards the end of September.

Wicketkeeper-batter Threlkeld, a one-club player, debuted for the Red Rose in 2014, aged 14, and she has been part of special title wins in the non-professional era.

But last summer’s achievement, in the first year of county-led pro cricket, surely tops the lot.
