“Big man back to Lancashire. Looking forward to seeing you again.” That was the text Simon Booth sent to Noman Ali a couple of Thursdays ago, just after his signing had been announced by Lancashire.
Pakistani left-arm spinner Noman has been signed up for the last six games of the Rothesay County Championship season, starting against Northamptonshire at Emirates Old Trafford this coming Thursday.
“If you pencilled him in for five wickets first game against Northants, I wouldn’t be shocked,” said Booth, who was captain at Farnworth CC when the man in question was their professional in 2018 and 2019.
