
Kyle Hogg: The journey from county champion to national coach

Kyle Hogg played an integral part in Lancashire’s 2011 County Championship title triumph and is now helping develop the next crop of England men’s stars as the Under 19s’ bowling coach. In between, he has packed a lot in, with plenty of highs and some unenviable lows.
The ex-Saddleworth all-rounder has been reflecting on his time inside and outside of cricket.
And there was one particular line which stood out amongst many good’uns, giving you an idea of the measure of the man and coach.
“I guess being out of the game for eight years was a really good thing,” said the 42-year-old. “Because when I got back in, you realised why you loved it in the first place. I get as much satisfaction out of coaching an Under 11 finding their way as I do coaching the best players in the world in The Hundred.”
