We have long since known about the changing landscape when it comes to counties signing overseas players. But if there are two statistics to reinforce that theory, then it’s these.

Lancashire have fielded 60 men’s overseas players across the formats since the start of May 1968, and have signed 62 when you add in the impending arrivals of Australian duo Mitch Perry and Ben McDermott for 2026. But more than half of those players have been signed since 2011.

And, what’s more, 10 of those 62 have been signed from the start of 2024 onwards.

Remarkable, really!
