Local League cricket across Lancashire and the North West has changed significantly over the last decade or so, and Greenmount Cricket Club can attest to that more than most.

Local League cricket across Lancashire and the North West has changed significantly over the last decade or so, and Greenmount Cricket Club can attest to that more than most.

A club situated on the outskirts of Bury, since 2015 they have lifted silverware in each of the Bolton League, the Greater Manchester Cricket League and, most recently, the Lancashire League. This summer, they will play in the Lancashire League’s ECB Premier Division having won last year’s Division Two title with some comfort ahead of Enfield.

New leagues have formed across the county and region in recent years, famous ones have folded and others such as the Lancashire League have rejigged the way they do things by including promotion and relegation. As a result of that, there has been a significant movement of clubs.
