Expect the unexpected. Even Liam Livingstone isn’t sure how his red-ball return is going to go for Lancashire over the next couple of weeks, at both Blackpool and then Chesterfield. But it will certainly be a ‘must watch’.

After all, that’s Livingstone full stop. Box Office. He’s the type of player you just can’t take your eyes off, be it T20, 50-over cricket or even the Championship.

Ok, ok, we might not quite see the fireworks of Durham on Tuesday night and that brilliant 85 not out off 31 balls in chasing a 10-over Vitality Blast target of 129. But, there’s no doubt Livingstone has the class to win a Championship game for the Red Rose county.

Livingstone has answered an SOS from red-ball captain Sir James Anderson to face Kent, starting tomorrow, and then Derbyshire from next Friday. Lancashire are thin on the ground availability wise, and Ben McDermott has also made himself available for the next two matches.
