Ellie Threlkeld believes Lancashire trio Liv Bell, Darcey Carter and Ailsa Lister could be in for a memorable few weeks with Scotland at the forthcoming T20 World Cup, which starts for them at Emirates Old Trafford on Saturday morning.
Had Red Rose captain Threlkeld been able to attend the 10.30am start against Ireland, she could well had justified walking down Talbot Road and buying a half-and-half scarf from one of those vendors you usually see outside big football matches.
With Lancashire’s regular One-Day Cup overseas player Gaby Lewis captaining Ireland, Threlkeld certainly has a foot in both camps.
Instead, the wicketkeeper-batter will be on county duty down at the Edgbaston Community Ground, where the Metro Bank One-Day Cup resumes with a game against Warwickshire.
